Genevieve was going through a tough life change recently, and the perfect way to honor change is to create art. We found ourselves in Elysian Park with a Holga lens, Isabelle and a beautiful sunset. I treasure these artistic moments I have with friends and decided I need to start shooting film again as it feels more permanent and fated.

After finally reading Just Kids by Patti Smith, and hearing that Robert Mapplethorpe hardly took more than a dozen photos of Patti during their photoshoots, I was inspired to return to film. It’s time for a paradigm shift in thinking; shoot less photos and enjoy the meticulous process.

“With photography, you zero in; you put a lot of energy into short moments, and then you go on to the next thing.”

-Robert Mapplethorpe
